I am getting my first whitetail mount done this year. I am contemplating getting the pose in a semi-sneak with the ears back. He is only about 16 inches wide and was hoping the effects of the ears back would help emphasize the antlers. Do any of you have pictures of a mount with the ears laid back. Feel free to share pictures and personal opinions.

I am a fan of the sneak and the upright. But it really is personal preference.

They are close to the illusive 8 inch bases but not quite there. If I measure the burr I can say they are 8.25

No, he isn't done yet... that is a buck I shot in 2000. Actually shot him about 20 yard from where I shot Tubby.

Check with your taxidermist, but I think most sneak's have the ears layed back.

Here is my buck mount from this year. It only has a 16 inch spread, so I decided to have his ears laid back. The form is a McKenzie* 9700 with a left turn.
