I had money in hand with every intention on buying some earlier this
year. After looking at them for some time I could not bring myself to buy
them. I really like the L.W. sticks and like you would be interested on what everyone else thinks.

IMO, spend you money on LW sticks. They are longer and they lock themselves down to the tree much tighter than the Muddys.

I had a set of LW sticks for a long time.I had a couple of the pegs that support the step so you can flip it from one side to the other break.I went out and bought a set of Summit Buck Steps 2 years ago and love them. There is 4 sections 17" each. They sit out from the tree more than the LW and you can stand with both feet at the same level.Make it easier for hanging a stand.

I've got a set of bucksteps. I don't like the amount of noise they make, both hanging them, and the bit of slop/squeak they can have when using them. Also, they're very bulky when packing them and not good for hanging quick sets.

I bought Muddy Sticks this year and love them. They do not hug the tree as tight as LW's, but when you are standing on them, it doesn't matter. I found that their rope system makes them very quiet compared to LW's. I seem to have trouble with the buckles banging around all of the time. Don't get me wrong, I still use and love my Lone Wolf sticks. But, my Muddy sticks were with out a doubt my purchase of the year.

I haven't used the LW sticks or the Muddy ones. I do have a set of Gorillas and they work good, but IMO the cat's meow are those Rapid Rails by Ameristep. I LOVE those things!!

What 180 said. The Lone Wolfs have pivot V brackets and the Muddys are fixed. Pivoting V brackets is a much better feature. I know this, as I have 3 Gorilla sticks(they were almost exact copies of Lone Wolfs and broke patent rights and were discontinued) that didn't have this pivot feature, and they didn't lock on trees as nice. I grinded the lips off so they would. I have read others' testimonials too, that wish that they pivoted. Muddys two features that are top notch though; the rope system hookup, and the 2 foot platform on the top of each stick. Not enough for me to give up the Lone Wolfs though.

I like the looks of the Muddy on first blush.
The rope and pivots are cute, not sure I would like messing around with tying off the rope as the warnings tell you to, and I think it's just a matter of time before the grippers spread and quit holding the rope,.
Like others I like the pivoting two steps, and agree the pivoting tree bracket, (at least on one end) are essential to fitting the irregular shape of the trees I hunt.

If you are in no hurry, I would think they would have them at the classic and be on sale if you are going anyway.

I have both and like them both alot. The muddy sticks do stack and are quite and fast. The LW sticks are longer and and lock on a little tighter. With the Muddy sticks you can manuver around limbs a little easier. My final set up this year consisted of 3 LW sticks and 2 Muddy sticks. With that arrangement I was able to obtain the strength's of both products.

I like the sound of that setup.

I just looked into buying these and there out of stock til summer. I would think they would want their product readily available to their customers for more than 6 months out of the year.

The sticks stack well together but not on the stand like LW's do.

Have a friend that has a muddy set up and a LW set up and is looking for some one to trade his muddy stuff for LW. Because he cant find a good quite way to pack the muddy.

Same here. I had a torn ACL all bow season, so I couldn't climb my LW sticks because of the stagered steps. I bought a set of Muddy's, because I could step up, both feet on the same level, then step up again. At the end of season, I was able to use the LW again, but I only have 3 of them. Throw 2 muddy sticks in there, and you can wiggle around about any limb there is. Alone, I don't think I could get as high with 3 muddy's and I do with 3 LW and a gorilla, but with 2 muddy's and 3 LW, I can get up there pretty high, and manuver around in any type of tree.

The Muddy steps for 2010 had the pivoting tree V-bracket too (the 2009's did not)
I used the Muddys a lot this year and with the double foot step actually prefer them to the Lone Wolf steps.
