So its more for a set and hunt later guy.

I would think they would offer a mobile hunter strap system....Since they are a sponser I'm sure they will read this. Make it an option guys! /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

DOR,
i would have no problem using this system in set up and hunt environment....

in fact, id rather have a heavy duty ratchet strap than a pull tight, as i feel safer that way... but im a big boy and every precaution i can get, i use it!!!

when using the ratchet,. i disengage the clicker when bringing it forward and it doesnt click, then i go back one click at a time and go slowly, while watching my surroundings.... i have not every spooked deer using a ratchet and have used them quite often!

just some of my thoughts for ya...

I will have to look at it closer.

I have been somewhat dissapointed with my "silent partner".....I didn't have to pay for mine, but I wouldn't expect to have to add additional things to a 189$ stand to keep it quiet during transport and I have. Cast iron is sturdy in the tree but noisy as hell if it dings somethingon the way.

Laugh if you will, butthe queitest stand I have hunted out of is still the old Gorilla I have owned for 10 years(see below). That said, I dont like the new ones as well as the older versions they use to make.

I have both the large aluminum and large steel stands. Aluminum if I have to haul it a ways steel for the hang and hunt later sets.

Just happened to catch the question about the straps. You can use it exactly like the LW system. Rachet or non-rachet straps, 1 or 2. They give you an option that LW does not.
