Muddy

Just got the new Muddy Vantage stand, and put it together. It's super slick, and lighter that my blind. Can't wait to get it in the woods! Sept 15 can't come soon enough!

Yes. Portable with brackets for multiple stand locations. Backpack type carry out. The seat is fully adjustable to keep level. Weighs only 15 lbs I think. Assembly requires only 4 bolts. Pretty impressed so far.

I picked up a Muddy Outfitter Lite Hang On and got a good deal on it, less than $75 but I don't like it. I was literally running through BassPro in Des Moines. They had the damn things hanging 20 feet in the air, I prefer the CB store. Anyway, been using portables for 30 plus years and have yet to find one I really like.

Ever tried the lone wolf stand and sticks with the easy hang hook? Hard to beat that setup for everything you're wanting.

Big Ernie in Nebraska uses a Lone Wolf. I am actually pretty happy with a Gorilla I bought a few years ago. I just thought the leveler would be nice but all this Muddy has are lower bolt holes. I ain't messing with that while I am hunting, plus it smells like wheel grease. I think the screws have it on them. I swear!

Thanks for input!

Funny, I have an old stand called The Cheap Seat that was Aluminam and used a hook and a rope that was like a Chinese slip not. It is so light, quiet and safe at the time, not anymore.

I also have 4 or 5 stands with the peg on them and I use a bracket in the tree. They are steel and heavy. The one Muddy that started this topic sounds of interest and maybe the Lone Wolf.

I am fine for this season and could use it for as much country as I cover but I am getting old and a ladder stand sure is nice to have up already.

When I do go portable I always have to be ready, a new stand in a new tree is always hot!

Appreciate the input!

The big difference with a lone wolf is that they are cast as opposed to welded. You don't have to worry about the stand popping and making noise with weight shift and cold weather.

I've tried every "portable" stand. Climbers of every brand, millenuium, muddy, you name it.
The most quiet and easiest to hang for me is lonewolf. I know a lot of people that love the muddy set up but when I want to get into a new area and be quick and quit I'm grabbing the lonewolf everytime

I am torn between getting this stand or going with the Bloodsport.

I packed in a Bloodsport several times last year and loved it. If I remember correctly, I think you can buy those brackets that the vantage stand uses and put them on any Muddy stand.

Great stuff, that's why I am on here asking. Hmmm, Bloodsport, I will look him up and compare. Lone Wolf keeps getting the thumbs up, I need to try! Thanks!

I have them both. Bloodsport or any muddy stand has a better seat.
The bloodsport is by far the quietest stand to put up since it's all rope.

The new muddy vantage appears to be the easiest to hang, but I've only looked at it.

Im interested to see how my new mellenium m-50 works out this fall. It has the leveling capabilities, and I really like the strap system they have integrated in to it. Looks to be a whole lot safer then my old hang on stand.

Forgot to add, I I purchased a Vantage to try this year. Is sitting outside airing out I hate how they smell like mothballs when you first get them!
