Muzzleloader Comparison?

Ok I know everyone has there favorites but has anybody shot an encore, and a Knight long range hunter side by side? Just kinda curious which one would group better at long ranges. Ya I know it all depends on the load, just kinda wondering if one was built with better tolerances or not and does the prohunter and the regular encore have the same barrel?

knights are what we use and they are ALWAYS dead on!! they are very very nice muzzleloaders in our opinions!!!

Ive got a few buddies who have encores and love them and they seem to shoot good for them but after reading this article it has me really considering the longrange hunter, besides its cheaper than the prohunter

check out the rest of the site it has some really good info on different loads and ballistics

rutnstrut, if your really serious about a T/C, I would be more than happy to let you shoot mine sometime. I am in Des Moines alot, and usually go to scheels /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

those look sweett ill take one for each hand

I have the pro hunter and cant complain so far

It shoots where I am and hits what I aim at.

The only thing about the barrels from the encore to pro hunter I have noticed is that everything on the pro hunter has flutted barrells.

Let me know what you think of it.

I guess I don't see how they can really make the long range hunter anymore accurate than lets say a disc extreme. They both have 1:28 inch twist barrels and I believe they are both made by green mountain. So what could be the difference? If you are shooting the same amount of powder, with the same grain bullet, same ignition and barrel twist, I guess I just dont see it. It looks like they changed the looks a little bit, but I would bet it is more a marketing technique than anything. I would think if you have a good scope on your gun and a dang good shooting rest any knight would shoot a 4 inch group at 200 yards with the right load. The problem is, most people don't have a good enough shooting bench like knight does to do this. I have never had a good rest to shoot off of but I know at 200 yards mine is shooting 3 inches low and at a 100 yards it is shooting 1-1.5 inches high.

I think its all in the trigger pull that makes it a better gun.

I think he does. I shoot the disc .45 also and it is unbelievable how accurate it is out 200 yards!
