muzzleloader

Im in the market this year to buy a new muzzleloader. I'd like to buy a pro hunter so i could but interchangeable barrels but the barrels are so expensive so guess i'll buy a muzzleloader and buy a deer rifle later on to. i like the Thompson center muzzleloaders alot. Maybe the triumph?? Whats a good scope to go on a muzzleloader and my deer rifle. I want a scope with the mil dots. But don't want to spend 6 or 700 on a scope. Any suggestions on a good muzzleloader would be appreciated. I'd like to be able to sshoot 150 to 200 yards. Thanks guys

I have a pro hunter with a Leuold VX-3 and am very happy with it. Very accurate and sighted 1 1/2 inches high at 100 yards is exactly 8 inches low at 200. This is with a 250 SST with 150 grains of powder. I would highly recommend the TC, but there are definitely other less expensive options that will shoot every bit as well. CVA makes a quality Muzz and Traditons is making a good shooter as well for about half the price if that is a concern.

As far as a scope goes...... Nikon, Zeiss, Leupold, all make quality stuff. Leupold and Nikon also offer Muzzlelaoder specific reticles that are fairly affordable and high quality. My advice is to look at them all (guns and scopes) and pick what suites you and your wallet. :way:

One more thing. I would highly recommend putting quality rings and bases on whatever you purchase. I went with the Leupold Mark 4 I believe and they are extremely sturdy and easy to set up. One piece and solid. Hope this helps.

I've got the Savage ML10 and love it. Very accurate and dependable muzzleloader. Before I started shooting the Savage I shot the TC Encore. It's a great gun as well just a little pricey. I'm a big fan of Zeiss and Burris scopes. Like dedgeez pointed out, most importantly find what fits you best as everyones opinion will differ.
