my first Doe with a bow

Went out Muzzleloader hunting every night this past weekend starting on New Years night. At last light I took a shot at a doe that was ¼ away from me, the deer ran off with no blood in sight. The next night the weather was bitter cold and I debated on weather to go out or not. I put on a few extra layers and headed out. About the same time as the night before they came out, took a 40 yard shot followed by another miss. This time I’m pissed. I must have bumped my scope or something (time to head to the range).
Sunday came my wife had to go to Mason City so I could not get out to shoot. She got home around 3. I wanted to go hunting so I grabbed my bow. I know that it is dead on and am very confident in my equipment.
Got in my stand at 3:40 I started seeing deer before I got sat down. 10 min into my hunt I had 4 doe behind me but could not get a shot ,they went back in the woods. At 4:50 two deer heading my way from the woods at 40 yards the lead doe stopped in the clearing and was looking my way. I pulled back the string settled the pin and let the arrow fly. Watching it disappear in the sweet spot I knew she would not go far. Got down after about 15 min. started walking down the now red trail, found my arrow after 50 yards and the deer 25 yards after that.
Can’t wait till next year.

Before I went out I took a few shots in my basement to see if I could shoot with my big wool mittens on and prematurely hit the trigger. At least that didn’t happen out in the field.

So...you shot with mittens on, that would be tough! I've been hunting late ML with mittens from Cabelas with the zipper on the side for your trigger finger...the pull tab is a little loud though.

i have the mittens that have the flap that folds back and i put my trigger finger out, but it is still tuff.
