My first Halloween buck

AIRASSAULT

Not a pig, but, considering the circumstances, I'm happy with him. Not much of a story to this fella, but, I got in the stand this morning at 6:30, and this guy was the only deer that I saw. He came walking up a logging road and I grunted him in to 20 yards. I sat this same stand on thursday and saw 20 different deer including a giant 11 point. I would have liked to have a crack at him, but, unfortunately the doe he was with caught my wind and they left the scene rather quickly. I only have 7.5 acres of timber to hunt, and the majority of deer I see come out of the neighbors. I found out last night that the neighbors son-in-law was going to be hunting in there, which is with-in throwing distance of me. It pretty much cuts me off of most of the deer movement, so, I took a deer that I now kind of wish I had passed. He would have been a nice one next year, however he did have a pretty big body. I can't decide if he was a real nice 2.5 yr old, or, a mediocre 3.5 yr old.

Congrats on a beautiful buck! It's difficult (for me at least) to age a deer without live, standing pictures but I would say at least 3 1/2.

Either way he's a real nice buck! :way:

Congrats on a good buck! There is nothing wrong with him. Most people would love to have the chance at a deer like that.
