My buddy and I built a racecar this year because the old car was pretty tore up. We have been working on it since November. Just got the paint done yesterday. Still have to paint the rollcage monday and take it to the Big River Designs to get it numbered and decaled tuesday. It doesnt look too great now but it will look pretty sharp by wednesday or thursday im hoping. We race friday and saturday nights. First race is April 12th. Were almost ready!!!! Anyone else here involved with dirt racing?

If the person that "bought" my old suburban doesn't come through with some cash real soon, you and I should talk. That thing has a 4 bolt main 350 in it. Good strong racing potential.
 
He has a 383, 377, and 361. I know a few people who would most likely buy that 350 and i also know a website you could sell it on pretty quickly. What track\tracks did your buddy race at?
 
Real race cars don't have doors or windows to crawl through.Nor do they turn corners, well maybe, but only at the end of the strip. Anybody can turn left, but it takes a man to strap into a racer making over 1000hp and go close to 300mph in close to 4 seconds.

You should take Shovel up on his offer. That block would be well "seasoned". Probably wouldn't even need to bore it, just drop in some new .030 over slugs and go. It would be better though if it was a 454 becuase there is no replacement for displacement.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a demolition derby car, right?

Seriously, good luck this season and remember the middle pedal is only for stoppin in the pits.

Ahh yes i forgot you were from Nebraska. Never been to a racetrack up that way. Been to Deer Creek speedway in Minnesota. Havent gone any farther than that though.

Yes dragracers are one of a kind. But try racing on a surface that feels like ice going 80 m.p.h. and hanging a sharp left with cars within inches of you. Isnt easy!!!

Are ya sure? It kinda looks like one.

Try goin 300mph on a track that feels like ice with cars (possibly) inches away from you. I suppose the difference is there is only one other car on the track and he isn't trying to "bump" you out.

I too have pitted for roundy pounders, as well as a top fuel car and a mud runner in the unlimited class. As long as it involves horsepower, its all good.

The most deadly combination in the world is horsepower, testosterone and alcohol, the kind ya drink not the kind you use for fuel.

We could argue about this til our hands cramped. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif I just wanna go fast. My Jeep Cherokee wont cut it. The class we race has an average of 30 cars every saturday night and 75% of them will take you out of the race at any second. It makes for alot of fun!

I tried doing moto until i tore my acl in my right knee and tore my achilees tendon in my left ankle. Now both of my brothers race MotoX and do a few hairscrambles and enduros. I dont know how they do it. Scares the **** outta me just watching them.

It takes big stones and no fear to ride moto, enuro or trials. Neither of which I have. I hurt myslef bad enough on my Suzuki 185 dirt burner just playin around, no way I coulda raced.

Back in the day I about bought a 250 trials bike, just because it was so cool not becasue I wanted to do trials ridding. I think trials is about the hardest there is. Up and over boulders that are bigger than you are, crossing streams on logs all while being judged on your style. Tough stuff.

Another motorcycle racing that has kinda caught my intrest is the combination of moto and grand prix style. Part of the course is regular moto X and part of the course is a road race track. Talk about how to set up your bike, that would be tough.

Fishbonker, never heard of that racing your talking about but i bet it would be fun. My grandpa raced TT's on the Springfield Mile. That would be kinda crazy. Have an old motorcycle wrapped out at 150+ on dirt. No thanks!

If you have SPEED channel, keep an eye out for the Trial races your talking about. They show them once in a while and its alot of fun to watch!!

Ran the parts department for Challenger Racing and sold parts for them on saturday nights at Knoxville Raceway. Sammy Swindell was our driver at the time. Challenger and Gambler were the main sprintcar chassis builders at that time. Also helped out on several 360 sprintcar teams over the years.
