My time killer

My uncle Kelly Aden raced Stock cars for a year. Was a Black Terminator with # 48. Here is a pic of him at Dawson County Raceway.

You guys wanna talk about going in circles on something that feels like ice... Well hell... Just do it on the ice.

Yea Im the one in the camo.

The General Lee owner is a good friend of mine. Ive spent some time wrenching on it, and some quite a bit of time riding in it.

Bowhunter, Man i wish they did that kind of racing in Iowa. Id build a car for sure!

Whitetail Hunter, Who is the driver of that IMCA Modified? All of the Modifieds around here are also IMCA and the Boone Supernationals we go to are sanctioned by IMCA.

I used to spend some time down at West Liberty. Was a big Steve Boley fan, and now I've converted to Brian Birkehoffer.

I have a couple of buddies from the Moscow/Durant area that still run cars.

I'm purely a spectator for racing, but I'd climb behind the wheel of a well built derby car anyday of the week.

BTW - Shovel, if no one comes through for that burb, the 4-bolt main 350 is the best derby motor made. Kind of like the ford 9" rear end.

I'm also a fan of the asphalts for getting there, dirts for racing, motto.

AIM, that 34 raceway looks really fast in the video you posted. I might have to check it out this summer. A guy I work with is on the crew for Terry Neal in the late models. I'm going to be taggin along a little more this year.

turtL,34 is a very well known track. Over 100 cars show up every saturday and put on a heck of a good show. 3\8 Mile High Banked Clay. Ive been to several tracks and its up there in the top 3. Terry Neal runs here every year for the IMCA Pepsi Late Model Nationals. Its a 2 day show in the middle of September. I bet it would be alot of fun running around with him. I hope you like it!

If hes running the Deery Brothers Summer Series, which i think he does, then he will be making a trip down here on April 12th also.

311, why can I picture that driver of the Orange 01 reachin in the back seat for a cold one... Man that pic makes me laugh for some reason... /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Now that Im home and can post some pics.

I was a pit crew for this car when I was just out of highschool. Spent more hours working on this car that I never got to drive and didnt own than all the rest of my vehicals that I've ever had. This pretty much killed a whole summer worth of weekends, between wrenching and racing.
Here's a pic from North Central Speedway in Brainerd MN.

Yea and the ice racer...
It is Birch Lake right in Hackensack. Build a car, put some weight in it, pile a driver and 4 passangers in and away you go.
And as far as the cold one... It wasnt that many years ago (like 5) when they finally said no more drinking while racing. First time I was up there to watch, I saw 5 guys crawl into a car with 10beers a traveler of peppermint schnapps and when they got out it was all gone. They have long since put the ki-bosh to that... No drinking in the pits during racing. Probably for the best. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif
And as far as the building a car... EASY. Take everything off below the mirrors; grill, lights, trim. Stud your front tires, add a brake light above the trunk and number plate on the roof and your set. They do have quite a few tech specs but nothing special.

Laughing my a$$ off right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This car only ran 1 summer with this paint job and I think all in MN. Its been sold and repainted; I know the new owner a little bit aswell; matter fact he Ice races in the winter for fun. I tried to talk him into running the dirt track car, but he said it was to expensive and too cold to run it.

It takes big stones and no fear to ride moto, enuro or trials. Neither of which I have. I hurt myslef bad enough on my Suzuki 185 dirt burner just playin around, no way I coulda raced.

Back in the day I about bought a 250 trials bike, just because it was so cool not becasue I wanted to do trials ridding. I think trials is about the hardest there is. Up and over boulders that are bigger than you are, crossing streams on logs all while being judged on your style. Tough stuff.

Another motorcycle racing that has kinda caught my intrest is the

combination of moto and grand prix style. Part of the course is regular moto X and part of the course is a road race track. Talk about how to set up your bike, that would be tough.

Bonk what you are speaking of is called Supermoto. They run it in the off season of all other series, supercross, moto x, road racing, flat track, etc. If you ever catch one of these races it is usely fielded with some of the best riders from all of the mentioned circuits. Awesome to watch for sure. A local from Ottumwa by the name of Matt Burton travels west in the winter to run supermoto. And does well.

Man if he won the Boone Supernationals he's the Cream of the Crop. Last year was my first time up there. Over 700 cars throughout the week. 317 A-modifieds trying to get into the 30 car A-Main event. Ive never seen anything like it. Ill be back up there this year also. Probably stay up there all week.

A little delayed but heres the picture of the finished product. Had practice last weekend. Tore up the transmission. It lasted us all of last year.Glad it happened at practice i guess. So i went up to Boone, Iowa and picked up another one.
