The Hunt Never Ends....
In past years I have sometimes struggled to find good trees to place my cameras, so in recent years I've made these cam 'holders'.

Pretty simple to make. Bought a fence post ($3), used some old pieces of 2x4 (FREE) I had laying around, and bought some zip ties ($5 for a bag). Pretty cheap and simple, and they work really well. I've gotten some of my best photos using these the last couple of years.

Made a few more tonight and took a picture of them for you to see.....drilled holes in the 2x4, zip-tied them to the post, and spray painted the wood green.....just an idea if you ever run into the problem of not finding the 'right' tree! :way:

Nice Chris. I had a buddy weld me up several of these last year. Mine are a little different I will have to post a pic.

I had great luck using them last year and man are they handy. :way:

I would be interested to see what your's look like. Mine aren't too fancy but they do the trick.

I had to make a few more because I have a few more cameras i'll be getting in the next couple of days ;)
 
Sometime I wish I lived where there weren't critters in the woods that would have a serious chew on that. Cool set up.

do the posts have the 't' on the bottom so you can step on them and get them in the ground? If not, how do you pound them in? It looks like the 2x4 is too far up to allow for use of a fence post pounder.

Some of the ones I built last year have a 't' on the bottom, but lately I have just been pounding them into the ground with a small sledgehammer. You"re right about the 2x4 being too far up to allow me to use a fence post driver.

I liked the old ones I made with the 't' bottom but just haven't done it lately.

Johnson, the ones you made look pretty nice. Are they heavy?
 
jjonson....what is the post of yours made out of?

Great thing about this site is you can get lots of ideas....I've got some 4' pieces of rerod laying around and might rig up something simiar to yours with that and some flat pieces of iron.
 
1/2" rerod. plate is 4"x4"

My buddy welded some 1/8" rod that used to step on to get it into the ground. That lasted until I stepped on it.:thrwrck: They're not bad at all to push in until the ground gets hard.
