My Trophy Whitetail Predator/ASAT boat

Hardcorehunter

UL Shelter/Stove Geek
My girlfriend painted my boat up for me today. I picked the colors and told her to do what she wanted with it. I really like it, kind of a combo of predator/asat. 14' long X 56" wide flat bottom with a new 5 hp Briggs air cooled on her. I gave $100 for the boat and trailer and the engine is $700 new. I have owned a lot of different small boats over the years, and this has to be my favorite. It is small enough to load and unload by myself, even in a rivers current, has a fairly large payload capability, extremely stable, and will float on only inches of water. The engine will bring it up on plane, even going upstream in the Des Moines River. The air cooled feature is nice and I don't have to worry about plugging up a waterpump. I have a wall tent, and instead of going out of state this year on some expensive trip, I am going to enjoy IA and do a trophy"wilderness" whitetail hunt for 7 days by living in a wall tent during pre rut and using this boat to get myself, my lady, and another couple to some fairly inaccessible land that you can really only hunt by boat. Should be a riot and a great way to feel like you have taken a cool vacation.
EDIT; page 2 has a matching canoe.

Dear Mr. Hardcore,

It has been said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but here at ASAT Camouflage, we are not amused with the use of our copyright camo scheme to paint your boat (see picture in this thread). In the current climate of hunting commercialization, we can not tolerate such acts and we will aggressively protect our trademark. We estimate the surface area of said boat to equal approximately 25 Elite Ultimate Jackets that retail for $185 each, so please remit a check in the amount of $4,625 to compensate us for the use of our trademarked pattern.

We also question the use of this pattern on a boat unless you plan to drag said boat onto shore. This pattern will clash with most marine environments. We would suggest a more appropriate pattern would be:

Thank you for the free advertising and for choosing ASAT.

Happy Hunting,

Just got back from "Christening" the new paint job and getting it out for the 1st time of the year. Took it about 10 miles up river. Can't wait for fall to hopefully see a big monster IA whitetail in it!!

For someone who once said "I'm glad so be out of that frozen wasteland" you sure look like you are enjoying your time back in Iowa......

Amazing what God and a Christian woman can do in ones life. Thanks everyone, I am happy with her artwork and this boat. Should be a lot of fun this fall and I am taking it to MO on a whitetail hunt too in Sept, and MN in Oct.

Thanks guys.....I found a 70 year old guy selling this 17' Grumman Aluminum Canoe complete with take apart kayak paddles, boat cushions, and life jackets for $250. I took it home and my girlfriend just got it painted two weeks ago. I put some pipe foam insulation on the cross bars, and mixed a little fine sand with the paint on the inside bottom of it for traction. These sell for around $1000 new, so I was pleased with my purchase. Now I have a matching set of bow hunting boats; one that is my flat bottom with a motor, and this for the silent type of hunt. I will actually mainly use this for summer canoe trips. I left the bottom outside olive/wood colored, and will add a couple of coats each fall before I put it away to help protect the bottom from scratches and rock gouges. I think she did a great job on both boats. I have $1050 in both of these boats/trailer, motor, and gear combined.
