The other day a friend of mine asked me what I knew about the North American Hunting Club. You know the NAHC, the club that states “As a club member you’ll be eligible to test and keep FREE hunting products.”

I told my friend that I was no longer a member of NAHC, but at one time I was a card carrying member and paid my annual dues faithfully. If my memory serves me correctly I was a member of NAHC for 7 years.

During that time I never once was asked to test any products, nor did I receive any products to test. I knew several other hunters who belonged to the NAHC at the time and none of them received any gear/products to field test either.

It is not my intent by making this post to in anyway bad mouth the North American Hunting Club. I merely want to know if you IW members that belong to the NAHC have ever received any products to test as their statement on the website suggests.

i too was a card carrying member for about three years and never even recieved literature other than my initiation packet.....

its a gimmick to get people to join

I was a member for three years and they never sent me anything to test as well.

They did how ever monthly try to get me to sign up for a life membership for a ton of money.

I cancelled my membership almost a year ago, but for some reason they keep on sending me a magazine.

Maybe they are trying to make up for never sending me anything to test. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

But I miss all of those super adhesive stickers they would send in every envelope. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I have actually tested a number of items for them....basically once your member you still have to sign up to be a tester. Then once you sign up it normally only takes me about six months to get a product to test. There is a requirement to fill out about two pages worth of questions once your testing is complete. Also once you tested a product you have to sign up again to get back in the tester pool. Thanks for reminding I need to go sign up to be a tester again.
On a separate topic it is not much of a mag or a club, but I too was foolish enough to part with a life membership money and received the boyt gun case. So none the less I still try to take advantage of the stuff they offer.

I was offered to test a knife the first 6 months I was a member. I was sick and tired of all the crap they sent every single month so I dropped out after about 2 years of membership. I tested a knife, was a piece of junk.

been a life member since '94. tested a few things over the years, some good, some bad. they're no better or worse than any other organization, with the exception that every once in awhile something cool shows up in the mail.

This is correct. I've been a member for 10 years, finally sprung for life membership about 6 months ago. I figure at 32, the life membership will pay for itself in about 15 years, and I like the magazine.

I've tested several items, most of them cheapies, but I did get lucky enough to get a truck/atv deer hoist about three years ago. It was worth about $250-$300. I gave it to my grandfather. I won a pan turkey call on their click and win contest once.

It is what it is.
