Length limits rescinded on 2 state lakes
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has temporarily rescinded all length limits on fish in two southeast lakes.
The changes affect Big Indian Reservoir in Gage County until May 1, 2010, and Iron Horse Trail Reservoir in Pawnee County until Sept. 30. The lakes' water levels are being lowered to eliminate existing fish and facilitate in-lake work.
Don Gabelhouse, fisheries administrator, said daily bag limits remain in effect. Anglers will be allowed to harvest stranded fish of all species by snagging, hand fishing, legal dip or landing nets, legal baitfish seines, barbed hand spear and archery. It is illegal to transport live fish away from these lakes and release into other bodies of water.
