Hope the RUT is late this yr as some articles say,,cause today thru at least Wed record high temps are expected. Break out the shorts and bug reppelent! Bad time of yr for a heat wave, but looks like exactly what we are having. Brutal cold will prob come in Jan, but no help now.

Normally that's the case...especially mature bucks. To darn hot for them to move much in warm weather.

Folks with pen deer will usually observe only nocturnal movement during warm weather this time of year.

I think day time activity is going to spike closer to the full moon if colder weather coincides and looking at the forecast it's getting much better by the 8th....hmmm...guess where I'll be? /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

i shot a 157 inch buck on october 29th of 2006 it was 78 degrees out,so it can still happen.you won't no if you don't go.

Hope the best is yet to come. I had a death in the family, so warm or not I ambusy this week.Since I have hunted in IA, first week of Nov seemed to see most activity, then it slowed to a crawl, but maybe was just my odor had permeated my two set-ups? Anyhow,,hope it is still active second week of Nov. I have not hunted in IA, all that long.

I hope the Accu weather forecast is right for the second week of Nov, 9 thru 15, cold and stormy! I take this sight with a GRAIN of scepticism though.

Don't hope for to much! Last year it was near 80 the second week of Nov. I have about 2/3 the month of Nov. scheduled off for vaca.! If they forcast warm weather, it will be un-scheduled!!!!

I have shot them when it was so hot on an all day sit I have had to take off my boots and days so cold I was shivering so bad my arrow fell off my rest. Hot or cold they will move. Sure movement will be less when hot, but one thing is certain if your not there you can't shoot them. Tweaking your sits to include water and cool bottoms during hot water can dramatically improve your success.

I think they are on the move now. Saw two different buck at a distance chasing does last night, and had two bucks this morning definitely looking for love.

The first was working on a scrape, and I think he was pretty decent, but it was still very dark. Even though he walked right under the stand, I didn't get a real good look at him. The second came through about an hour later and was also on the prowl, passed on him and am wondering now if I should have. Got him to come back with a doe in heat bleat.

I don't think warm weather will make them less horny, maybe more nocturnal, but they will still follow nature's call.
