Need some advice

Target buck came in tonight. I am 18-20 feet in the tree. 37 yard shot lead leg was forward offside back. Left and right was perfect. I feel like I was top of shoulder high. Hitting the offside front leg. It looked like 12-14 inches of arrow was sticking out of him as he took off. I fear one lung but don't know. Giving it till morning, and waiting for a call back from a tracker . It's going to be a sleepless night. Just want some thoughts of what you guys think.

If you have 12-14 inches of arrow sticking out I'd say if you got one lung you got both of them. From the description it sounds like a good shot to me. Good luck on the track!

Hopefully that means 12” approximately inside the deer - guessing you got both lungs with that penetration - pending exactly the height you hit him!! Hope burried offside shoulder! Good luck!!!!

Agree^^^^^. If it’s where I’m visualizing - done. If it’s not (and my eyes do fool me on where I think I hit deer vs confirm later) - could be different. I’d bet u got him is my GUT.

Not the outcome I was looking for...... Wasn't able to get a dog and it rained really good last night.Found my arrow about a 100 yards done the track. In tact with little to no blood on it. Could have walked right by him an not known place is 90% honey suckle. Sucks. Here's the only blood that was found. Looks like meat in the blades. Maybe I was higher than I thought. Thanks for you input guys appreciate it. Not that it matters but here was the deer.

He'll be back chasing does in a couple days. Had that happen may years ago. The next day while a group of us went looking and jumped some does, when they ran, he came out and followed them like nothing happened. Four years later he was taken about 2 miles away, scored 171". Good luck to you!
