Since my wifes accident There is no way she will be able to use her bow this year and Just wondering if anyone has any info about crossbows. Been looking in cabela's book but I have no experience with them and am looking for some help... I would like the best bow for the money... thanks for any help..

My uncle has a bad shoulder and can barely pull back a 45 lb. bow. He got his crossbow permit last fall and is having the same problem deciding which x-bow to buy. I don't know that there is an answer to your question. Just like the first bow I bought, I had no idea what I was doing. Good luck with your decision and I'm glad your wife is OK.

If you think she is going to recover back to using a regular bow I would buy a real cheap one or try to find a friend who has one to get by for the year. I was in a real bad car accident 2years ago and was going through the same thing as your wife. I just borrowed my buddies crossbow which was a cheap horton and it worked fine. I can't say buying a real expensive one is the way to go because the cheap horton I had would kill anything out to fifty yards. I was back using my mathews the next year and I hope your wife can be back using a regular bow soon as well. There's nothing like a regular bow for bowhunting. good luck!

Doesn't seem to be a lot of helpful hints on this one HMMMMMM!?

I would suggest going to Archery Talk . com and PM a cat that goes by Jim C..He seems to be the resident pro on X-bows. He is not well liked by many because he does have a attitude concerning X-bows. But, I am sure he can hook you up with info.
