New Bow

Full Quiver

New Member
Well, after shooting both the Trykon and the Switchback today I decided to go with the Trykon. Both bows are extremely quiet with almost no hand shock. I will say that the Switchback was a little smoother on the draw. I liked that the Trykon was a little heavier and its grip felt better in my hand. I was shooting a Hoyt and never had any problems with it, so after shooting both of them for while I finally decided to go with the Trykon. The shop got it all set up for me and it was shooting bullet holes in a short time. Just got to fine tune the sights for turkey season. Can't wait!

I kinda want a new bow but I am buying a new muzzleloader this Friday, hard to get both. Someday! That Trykon is an awesome bow!!

Good choice!

I think most are watching to see what happens with BowTec. I sounds like they are having some growing pains. I have heard just enough to stay away from considering one.

Teeroy, I did look at the Bowtechs, but like Ironwood said I had heard about some of their "growing pains", not that there's anything wrong with their bows, just made me think. Also the shop that is closest to my house doesn't carry them.

The Bowtech "growing pains" seem to be a lingering rumor more than anything. I've been doing some personal research and havn't heard much solid evidence on the limb problems. Gunrunr, along with other dealers, seemed to have aleviated my concerns.

After shooting the Switchback XT, Trykon, and Tribute, I went with the Trykon. I felt the Tribute had a little more vibration and noise than the Trykon and Switchback. IMO the Switchback seemed to have less vibration than the Trykon. But I went with the Trykon because I already had a $250 credit with the Hoyt dealer. In reality, a person really couldn't go wrong with any of the three bows. It just boils down to personal preference.

you know how i hate to admit it, but i gotta agree with muddy. internet rumors spread and grow with a life all their own.

i will pick up my new tribute this week, hopefully

The trycon came in last week...I picked it up yesterday. I am pleased with it tho I have not shot any distance with it yet. I also picked up the Hoyt Selena for my wife....that is one sweet shooting bow as well for a womens bow

Shredder (& other Trykon shooters), after shooting my bow a few times last week, the only noise I was hearing from it was a little "twang" in the string after release. On advice from the archery shop, we took out the string shoxs and put 1 cat whisker on near the bottom cam. Took out all the twang in the string and now is whisper quiet! Just an idea that worked great for me

The guy that set up my bow took out the string shox and put in string leaches, I barely heard the bow go off when shooting it.

Their product also looks more and more like Mathews every year! Catch us if you can!

Or is it, "Copy us if you can?"

nah, people just think that, because mathews spends a FORTUNE to con everyone as to how great they are. they look similar because of the parralell(sp?) limbs. believe me, they have NO desire to copy their slow technology.

Geez since 86' and we are just hearing about them??? Maybe they should have spent another 20 years and figured out how to keep limbs on their bows.

Or better yet let me know when they hit their 75th anniversary and are still selling the #1 bow in the world. Remember tee-roy pin in the middle squeeze the trigger and watch for exploding limbs
