New Cam (Pics added)

I bought a new trailcam today. Time to upgrade to the digital world. The cam is a stealth cam V330MT 3.0MP. Came with a memory card reader, bolting system to attach to the tree, batteries and a 256 megabyte memory card. They were on clearance at Bass Pro for 125 dollars, said they were originally 349.00. Anyone know anything about this cam? I know its not a top of the line, and probably has some flaws to it, but its got to be better than a 35mm cam.

Are there any tricks to them that anyone knows?

Don't know anything about that cam but that's a good price...let us know how it works out. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Re: New Cam

Good price for that cam. Trigger time is around 2-3 seconds so if you use it as a trail cam, you'll want to be sure to angle it at about 45 degrees more or less down the trail. Still real solid trigger speed though for trail use. Quality flash distance like most newer Stealths. Get some pics and let us know how it goes.

Re: New Cam

I'm going to put the cam out tomorrow and pull it Friday. Little break in shotgun season will at least give me enough time to figure out a few things about the cam.

Iowabowtech, what would the trigger speed compare to? My dad has a moultree camera, not sure of the model, but its the 80 dollar one at wal-mart. How would the new stealth cam I have now compare to the moultree?

Re: New Cam

Don't know about the 35mm comparison. As for the Moultrie, it depends on the model as to the trigger speed but a typical Moultrie speed is around 3 seconds. The 2+ second trigger speed is really quite good. Many homebrews are about that and that's why we love them. The P41 might come in just a little faster and a P32 would be real close. Cuddies are supposed to be around a second I think so bottom line, yours is in the top tier in terms of speed. Some of the el cheapo bargain basement cams, and even some of the moderately priced cams struggle to make 4-6 seconds which in trail cams is a MONUMENTAL difference from 2 seconds. Basically you're forced to use them over a lick, feeder or food plot. Yours can be used as a true trail cam, meaning to catch moving deer on travel routes. I really hope you like it and can't wait to see some of your pics.

Its in the wrong county for him. I have my cam set up behind my buddies house, I mean basically in his back yard, just north of town here. I don't want to put down were we hunted, I'm going to get 5000 pics of DA (dumba$$)
