New Hawken Project

Putting this together a little at a time. Bought the stock off ebay and then went to deer creek and bought a 58cal 1:66 twist barrel for it. I will have to have a new dovetail cut for the wedge key as the other 2 that were provided do not line up with my cut out. Tang and rear section of barrel are bedded for a solid fit. I plan on using a williams peep sight with the current brass bead front sight i installed.

That will be a nice gun. Dovetails are easy to make. Hacksaw and 3 cornered file is all you need.

Can't wait to see the final, finished gun. Been looking for a good hawken for about a year now myself. My dad used to hunt with one in the 90's and the patched round ball was pretty darn accurate to 100y with irons.
