I was wondering what everyone thought about using a decoy this time of the year. Which is better buck or doe? I know that around halloween if had success but not this late into november I usually put it away and just stick to rattling. Hoping to get out in the morning and can't decide if i should use it or not. Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys!!

I always say I get 50/50 results with decoys and have used them at this time when I tended to sit on field edges more often. Today my sits are more often in funnels along side bedding areas at this time of the year and I don't like using them in the timber. If I was to use one now it would be a buck in a few weeks I would use a doe. I have had some of the funnest sits ever using decoys and the worst because of them so it's a roll of the dice.

Buck decoy all the way. I had 8 bucks come to the decoy Friday, 6 on Saturday, and whacked a 150" 9 over the decoy Sunday morning. I've never had a bad experience with a buck I've wanted to shoot. Sometimes the smaller ones don't want anything to do with it, but I don't want to shoot those anyway.

have started using a buck decoy this year and i havent had a problem spooking deer. have brought deer in with it.

Thanks for the impute guys, used a buck decoy this weekend and like you said the little guys its a hit miss some are curious and some don't want anything to do with it, as for the big boys they just seemed to not be moving anywhere around me this weekend. Hopefully they'll start showing up in the next couple days!!!
