The last 10-15 mins goes through the bad bills we have been seeing at capital. This was done for you, the resource, the uninformed public & the everyday hunter. Great job..The way you break down the bad bills clearly and concisely is a big help for lawmakers to understand..Iowa hunters are lucky to have you fighting for them.

It blew me away when you were referencing how many EHD cases aren't reported or even found and the amount that jumps up to!
Thats a huge hit on our herd the last 2 years.

The county I live in was pummeled by ehd this year. I found 4 more a couple weeks ago so I went online to report. I decided to check what our county total was and it turns out I'm the only one in the whole county who reported any all year!

Enjoyed it.
@Sligh1 could you send me the study on crop damage $$$ per acre you reference at about the 53:00 minute mark?
Here’s one data source. I have a lot of data & studies. Some variance in stats. FB’s data they claimed had damage at .5 bushels per acre for corn. So- data range: .1 to .5
Loosely…. WHOLE STATE: $5.2m on corn, supposedly from deer (I argue more is coon). VS a $10-12B corn crop in iowa each year. Add a >$180m (it’s way more) deer hunting economy in iowa…. This is a no brainer…. Use the tools we already have to deal when folks have genuine issue!! The economics of this and the tools we have to solve the issues make this very simple to understand. Lemme know what else you want.

Thanks!
1000% agree on the coon damage. Those big wallowed out spots in corn fields get blamed on "those damned deer" all the time. That's coons and I can't be convinced otherwise.

I actually thought deer and racoon would cause more damage than that ? That seems pretty minimal across the state.

Of course you will have farms with timber and river bottom that will see much bigger losses per acre, and some primarily agricultural areas will see basically nothing .
