New Remington Slugs

I just watched the video, and found the slugs on Cabela's website. They are $17.99 - $19.99 depending on if you want 2 3/4 or 3 inch. It looks like they only make them for the 12 gauge, which is fine by me. I think I am going to have to try them this year! Thanks for posting about these!

Ya, they are only producing 12 gauge for this year, and will have 20 gauge next year.

Yes I do have a rifled barrel for a Benelli Nova. I hunt the 2nd season shotgun, and will definitely have to give these new slugs a try.

I've been shooting these for 3 years now. Amazing slugs. If the new ones are better (which they appear to be) I may give them a try. The above slug is dead on at 150 yrds when sighted in at 2" high (TOA) at 75. Unreal energy retention down range. IMO a slug truely made for using a powered scope on a shotgun. I shoot them out of an older Benelli SBE and of course a rifled slug barrel.

I am. Mossberg 500 with riffled barrel. Thats the slug I used last year when I shot two does with one slug. I am using the 3" slugs.

FYI - The only rifled slugs (that I am aware of) on the market, that are designed to be shot out of a rifled barrel, is one that Brenneke(sp) makes.
Those sluggers will actually fill the groves in your barrel and essentially make it a smooth bore barrel.
Smooth bore = rifled slugs
Rifled bore = sabbots

Yep, just saw that. I thought when I was reading the package that they were for Rifled. I'll be switching to the sabbots.

I would also go at it with your wire brush to the bore, to try and clean out the grooves as much as possible.

A buddy tried them out a few weeks ago, even brought the target in to work for show and tell. According to him they are ever bit as good as claimed. targets had less then 2in grouping at 125yrd. they look good from what I've seen

Do you know where your buddy bought his?
I went to Scheels this weekend and couldn't find em any where.
Any one else have any suggestions to find em?
I'll have to check out sportsman's warehouse too.

Will do. I actually have only fired one box of 5 of those slugs through the gun and still have 1 shell left, so only fired 4 slugs, so hopefully I didn't do much damage.

I bought 20 of these new accutip sabots and went out and did some target practice this past weekend. Shooting from a table, and it was pretty windy. I was able to get them all on the heart at 100 yards (one of those deer poster targets). I thought for sure I heard them make a wizzing sound as they went through the air. Moved the target back to 175 yards and was pretty impressed with the accuracy at that distance.

I found them at Wal-Mart in Boone last night. Not sure on the price, they didn't have it marked and I couldn't find anyone to help me. But I did find them there and will be purchasing them!

I finally got a chance to field test these slugs this weekend (first day of shotgun season 2). I shot 2 deer. First deer was a big doe, at about 100 yards. She was looking at me between 2 trees. It was a narrow shot but I took it and got her in the neck. The slug traveled on the top of back breaking the tops off all the vertebrea and wound up halfway down the back. I recovered the slug, and here's what it looks like:

The second deer was a little button buck (a son to the doe above). I shot him at 130 yards down. He was downhill from me in a draw. I aimed a little high to compinsate for the distance, but nailed him right where I aimed. Spine shot. Blew out an entire vertebra.

I like these bullets.
