New rubber boots stink??

What does everyone do to get rid of the rubber smell that comes with their rubber boots? I just picked up a pair of Cabelas 1200 gram knee highs on sale and I'm really happy with the boot but they have a very strong odor. Any tricks to remove the smell?
 
Take a walk through the barn yard and let them sit with mud caked on them for a good while. I don't think much other than use is gonna get rid of the smell.
 
Wash them several times with a good soap and water. Then leave them sit in a baking soda and water. Then just rinse.

I did this with my Alpha Burlys when I bought them. They smelled like rubber alot. I washed them a few times with HS Scent killer soap and then baking soda. That took 90% of the smell.
