New Snickers Add

Anyone seen the new snickers candy bar add on TV. It shows a deer in the woods and then 5 guys "hunters" appear and throw a bunch of snickers bars at the deer. I think one hits the deer on the head. The deer runs off and the guys look all bummed out. At the end it comments something like "If your not going to eat it, don't waste it."

I think it gives hunters a bad rap because it preceives to people that hunting is bunches of hunters ganging up on one deer and then pounding it with everything you got.

Instead of chucking snickers at a deer, they should of had a hunter fall asleep and the deer comes up and eats a snickers out of his pocket or something like that.

Just an observation...any thoughts?

We saw it last night. When it was over my husband and I just looked at each other and said, "Huh???"

I'm afraid the snickers ad is rather mild compared to a movie called Open Season that's coming out next fall. Wouldn't you know it? Right before hunting season. In case anyone hasn't heard of it yet, here's a preview:

My husband and I were commenting the other day that hunters seem to be one of the last groups that it's politically correct to bash. If there was a movie coming out making broad stereotypical depictions about ethnic or religious groups, or overweight people etc, there would probably be an uproar.

Dear god Kat! What the heck was that! What a bunch of crap! Time to fire up some emails.

WOW....that looks like something I am going to....

Hollywoods portrail of hunting really sucks....they classify it in the same manner as war (and they really don't have a good take on what war is) Is there any way we can petition Hollywood to become its own country? That way they could continue to do what nobody cares about and they would not have any pull in our political society.

Unbelievable.... total ignorance of what the outdoor experience is all about. The sad part is they make it into a cartoon so that thousands if not millions of kids will want to go see it. The power and influence of the media is scary, and it is something that we as law abiding sportsman will have to face.

i couldn't see the trailer. and i still can't figure out what that damned commercial is trying to say.

Anti Hunting Propoganda, Straight from Peta and the like. Their should be some kind of organized protest against this. And you are right,,it is aimed right at the kids. This is no accident. Someone needs to come up with where to write.
