hows everyone feel bout next weekend will it be a good time to be in the tree all day? do you guys think they will be hitting scapes at all

In my opinion, its still to early to be sitting in the tree all day long next weekend. Sure the deer are always out there somewhere but until I start seeing them cruising looking for does, I am not going to burn myself out early on the all day sits. The following weekend, I will be in the tree all day long. Every spot is different though. With my job I typically drive 500 miles a week and once I start seeing bucks roaming around in the 10, 11, 12, 1 oclock hour, that is when I start sitting all day. I haven't seen that yet.

I'll start all day sits when I notice that I'm still seeing deer come the time I want to get down. Of course, you gotta know the wind direction all day, if it switches you might as well leave and go to another location. Gives you a break and won't bust your stand.

They have been hammering the scrapes in my area the last few days....

We are getting real close. This morning where I was at was dead until 9am, then I had a doe and her little one with her come in. Wasn't going to shoot her as I was a long ways from my truck on a level B road which I shouldn't have tried in the first place. After she circled me, I had to let her have it. Thank god for farmers that have 4 wheelers. Long story short, after i shot her, I see another deer coming pretty fast across an open field. Buck with his nose to the ground. He ended up going by me, basket 8, and ended up bumping another 6-8 does that were 80 yards in front of me. They went in all directions. I am planning on making an all day sit at least 1 day next weekend. Now just have to get that past my wife.

I will be sitting all day both days next wknd and the weekend after that.. The most chase/grunting action I have ever seen was on Oct. 29th.

yea thanks guys..... i havent been out the last week cuz of a house fire but plan on being out there next weekend dont knw if i should try some grunts and rattling do u think thy would come into

If the conditions are favorable for movement during the day then yes. Cold weather this close to the rut will put them on their feet. I hunted all day on Friday and I saw good movement from little bucks all day, the big boys will be out to play soon.
