Archery season came to and end for me today. Around 7:00a.m. I had a couple does moving across a hayfield when this 8pt appeared out of a patch of timber. He mad a couple scrapes and disappeared by into the timber. The two does worked a fence line about 15 yards from my stand. Once they passed I did a light rattling sequence and he came thrashing through the timber. He cut across a ditch and hopped the fence. He started to make a scrape about 10 yards and I was able to draw and take a nice broadside shot. He ran 40 yards and tipped over. Big body, w/ a big neck. As we field dressed him it appeared I was able to make a heart shot as 2 of the chambers appeared to be destroyed. It was a great morning and my personal best archery buck. Rough score was between 135-140.
