So I planted this maple tree about 10 years ago with a white pine on either side. The intent was to hopefully hang a stand in it later in life since this seems to be the "magic" spot, but a good tree is lacking.
This year the trunk is about 8" diameter, so I opted to remove the fenced enclosure that had been in place since its planting. As I hunted this property for the first time this morning, I noticed an orange color from my current stand which is about 60 yards away. After my hunt, I walked over to investigate and this is what I found. Hopefully I catch this guy in the act, and the tree recovers.
