Nikon Rangefinders

Anyone use the Nikon Laser 600 rangefinder? If so anything that you don't like about it for BOWHUNTING? Any trouble ranging say a reference tree when assorted limbs and other brush around?

I have the 440. I did a lot of research and it was the best value on a limited budget. No problems. I like it. I've never run into a situation where it didn't have enough range, but I haven't taken it pronghorn hunting either.

My boys both use the 440s and are pleased with them. I like my Lieca LRF 800s. I wish I could comment on picking your target through brush with the Nikons but I can't. The Lieca's do a great job with it.

I have the 440 and really like it, as stated it has always been enough range for me. It seems to do a good job at picking a target through the brush.

I have an older version and it is an 800. It did a great job... However I got a Leica 1200 for Christmas and it is awesome!

supertec has a 440. i used it setting up the club shoot once, its pretty sweet. if i were in the market for one, that is probably the way i would go. sometimes sites like midsouth shooters supply, and nachez shooters supply will have refurbished ones for $100-$150

Cornfed - I've had very good luck with Nikon rangefinders, even in brushy situations.

Another vote here for the 440. I bought it before last season and like it a lot. For Midwest bow hunting, I don't see the need to buy anything more than that right there.

Thanks for all the input guys.... I ordered the Nikon Laser 600 today... had a chance to test drive the 440, 600, and the Leica at a local Gander Mountain. I liked the 600 the best over the 440 due to lower mag. 6x vs. 8x... I felt the 6x was best for bowhunting... easier to spot with.....

Leica makes great optics... but the rangefinder I looked at had such a small number in the viewfinder that it was almost hard to read.... the red illuminated reading would work nice in lower light though...
