No Elk huntin in Colorado for me (as planned)

I had my heart set on a planned trip to Colorado for Elk with 4 buds next Sept.

However, I will not have enough vacation time for a trip to the East to visit family(in-laws included) and hunt trip. So now I'm stuck hunting the rut in Iowa then traveling to WV to hunt whitetail with my two little brothers. Then up to NY for whitetails and black bear. I suppose I can take that trade off. WV hunt will be at my stepfathers cabin and it is my home turf, so no problems there. NY I have alot of research to do.

aren't the adirondacks suppose to be some great deer hunting. I think that is where the benoits killed alot of their big daddys. my ma lives in upstate ny and I asked a lot of guys that came into her shop and that is where they all hunted at.
