no flash at night

I bought a stealth cam online and had it shipped to my in-laws for them to set up in their back hayfield. After sitting for about a month now, we notice that all the night pics have no flash but we can see the big yard light in the house yard. Would a hard light about 350 yards away trick the flash from working? Its not illuminating the area at all down by the cam but maybe the fact that it's in the picture would? We're going to move it and give that a shot...trial and error is tough with the distance between me and them

A light that far away should only appear as a small white spot in the background.
I'm not familiar with the brand your using but maybe check out the settings to make sure it's set up for 24 hr pics. Putting it in a dark room and letting it take a few pics would also solve the mystery

Any normal troubleshooting that I would do is out of the question being its my in-laws that don't own electronics. They did point it another direction so we'll see what happens.

call company and send back! had the same thing happen on different brand, but was able to return to store for a new one. if its new it should be under warranty?

Test proved that this camera simply doesn't flash during night pictures. Customer service recommended a hard reset and that should work... We'll give that a shot and I'll report back if anyone has a similar issue
