Loesshillshunter...

I probably typed up 10 different responses to your last comment about "NR's" not knowing how to manage deer, but I don't think any of them would allow me access to this site much longer. All I will say is...you make me laugh. Just be happy that somehow..someway you guys have a gun season(shotgun only) that is far after the rut.

You(or anyone else) tell me one way to get the DNR to push our gun season back 3-4 weeks and I'll give you everything I own. Fact is, it's never going to happen here in MN and therefore we won't ever be a big buck state like some others. It's sad, because there's no doubt we would be top 5 if not top 3 with the habitat and ag we have. For some that need this disclaimer...I'm not saying MN would be better than IA. Whew..had to toss that in. Don't want to ruffle any IA feathers. ha, ha

By the way, does anyone know when and how your gun season was put in place? Was it always that way?

Thanks

Xtec- You may want to look at your home state some more if you are serious about shooting a big buck.

I believe my map is all time records, but anyway, still looks like big bucks are getting shot in Minnesota to me. I bet alot of guys view MN as a big buck state. Perhaps you should look into some public ground if land access is a problem for you.

sorry to see i missed all the goods from this post, but i gotta say, if minnesota made the regulation changes, i could see where they could surpass iowa in "big buck population". i could see the potential to be the top state in the nation, if they did everything right. that wouldn't ruffle my feathers one bit.
