Not quite right

Really bad overbite would be my guess. I just read an article in North American Whitetail about a big buck killed last year and they had a profile picture of it and it had a terrible overbite. Crazy it could even pick anything up to eat.

As the upper jaw appears normal length, a more correct diagnosis would be inferior brachygnathism (aka undershot lower jaw). Lips are there so not shot off. Just born that way. Amazing that they can eat and do well but they do. I saw the NW Whiteail picture too. Would make a little extra work for a taxidermist but it is possible to make these look pretty normal on a mount.
