Two years of knowing about this guy and the first time I lied eyes on him I was able to make it happen.

Last summer I got a picture a a very unique buck that appeared to be 3 maybe 4 and I have to admit when I saw him I hoped he would never show his face!

As luck would have it he never showed up and I got pics of him after season so was excited to see what he would turn into

Come summer of 2025 and all my previous years shooters that made it were MIA. Finally the neighbor sent me a video and said you know this guy? It was the buck above from the year before and he had blown up. He lost almost all the junk and put it all into the main frame. I immediately knew he was my #1 but also knew from where I had pics the year before and where the neighbor got the pic he wasn’t a regular on my place.

As luck would have it yesterday morning this big dude made a mistake. After a fairly slow morning I heard some deer chasing on a ridge to my south about 9:15. 30 minutes later I could hear them again and they sounded like they were getting closer. Then i caught some movement and saw long tines!! I grabbed the bow and got ready. I watched this big dude shred a tree and make a pissed of scrape and just hoped he would step into a shooting lane. He was 45 yards and started working away from me, and at 60 when he was looking the other way I gave him a loud grunt. He didn’t look but he got real pissed off and started making another scrape. I have never seen a buck so mad in my life, he was raking the ground like a bull and throwing dirt in the air.

He continued the other way and as I watched the rack go to 125yds or so I reached down and grabbed my horns and Gave them a quick smack, 3-4 seconds of a rattling and he spun 180 and came trotting back my way. At 40yds he started thrashing the honeysuckle and making another scrape and I knew he was going to make his way to me. As he stepped out of the honeysuckle and turned broadside at 25yds I let the arrow fly and watched it connect perfectly. He ran 40yds and stopped, the back legs started to buckle. He tried to make one more dash and made it 15 more yards and was done!!!!

It all happened so fast I had to just sit and think about what the hell just happened and how cool it was! I called my buddy hunting the other side of the farm and let him know I connected with a Giant! When he got done hunting he joined me and the celebration began!!

He ended up going 188 and change with nearly 13” g3s and over 43” of mass!!!

So awesome when it all comes together! Good luck to everyone still chasing them, the best is yet to come!3094067617083193678.jpeg
