NR family tags SF2054

If that only allowed them to hunt on their families ground who was a resident landowner then it wouldnt be that bad... But if it was a statewide tag then thats just stupid
 
Either you're a resident or your not.

How would this work? Tags out of the NR pool? These people just get to jump to head of the line?

Seems like a nightmare to administer. How the hell you going to prove relationship? Also, why should they get a price break?
 
What would constitute family? Does 4th cousin count? In laws? How about your 2nd cousins husband's brother?
If this comes out of the already allotted 6,000, it's just gonna screw over the honest nr trying to get a tag.

I've got a couple nr brothers who would love to hunt Iowa every year, but I guess I really don't see what makes them more deserving than another other out of state hunter. I definitely don't think it's fair to allow them yearly tags out of the already limited tags being drawn for.

From the bill.

NEW SUBSECTION . 9. a. As used in this subsection, “family 3 member” means a person who is a parent, stepparent, child, 4 stepchild, sibling, stepsibling, grandparent, grandchild, or 5 spouse.

I'm thinking these would not be counted as part of the NR quota.
