NR & Nonresident posts

One thing is for sure. If the subject line in a post includes NR or non-resident the post will get hundreds if not a thousand hits/views and depending on the tone of the post dozens of opinions and replies. It would be nice to be able to ignore these and just focus on the deer but I can't seem to do it. I hope everyone can remember that this isn't the same as sitting around the campfire and sharing their views or being able to share differing opinions. All kinds of people watch discussions like this and monitor hunting sites looking for the seam or thread to pull so they can attack our hunting heritage. Share your thoughts in a thoughtful way and respect those of others. Can I hear an "Amen"?

It will always be a heated debate, but suck it up and pay the cash, man you have 2-3 years to save up a few hundered dollers, I don't understand all the whining and taken sides. Its hunting and we should enjoy what is offered. Topics such as the one being covered should be questions and answers, not a damn fist fight! You want to do your whining and complaining take it up with the politicions. Its only gonna go up so make sure our children all have a good education so they can make a decent wage to afford these gold plated deer tags.

I would like to say that if I have whined, cried, mocked or attacked any Res on this site....I'm sorry. But I don't think I ever have. If someone can show me differently, then my apologies. Again, I can only assume that your post here is a blanket statement to all NR's that posted on the issue including me. Let me know if I'm in the wrong.

Now...I 100% agree with you with all points above, but what's wrong with a little discussion about NR's, NR's tag and the costs associated with them?

there is no reason we all can't carry on a civil discussion, even in disagreement. and on these issues, we are going to disagree. we are never going to sway a NR to our "side" unless we get them to move here, or get their state to manage their deer population to rival/beat what we have here. NR's will never get us on their side, unless we moved out of iowa.

just state opinions and facts, and don't get personal

X-Tec,
I don't think anyone's pointing any fingers here. You shouldn't take anything personally, although at times it may seem it's intended that way. Resident-Non-Resident topics are always heated issues and will always continue to be. It's difficult to voice an opinion online, especially if you think your in the minority with your views. The main thing to remember is that we all share the same passion for deer hunting, and that's what we're here to discuss. People tend to get defensive when discussing issues that are close and personal to them, and sometimes we all say things that don't come across very well to others. I'd be willing to bet that if we were all sitting around a fire drinking a few beers together that the issues wouldn't even come up. The Non-residents on this site that stick around for a while are just another one of the guys or gals. The fact that they're from another state doesn't really matter, we enjoy hearing from everyone. On an ending note, I will have to say that you might possibly catch a little crap when the Vikings blow another season this comiing fall. The only positive thing they have going for them is the fact that Moss is gone. Thank God!!

CRITRGITR,

I couldn't agree with you more. For that reason, I'm done with posts about NR's tags. It just goes no where and nothing gets accomplished.

The Vikes blowing another season and me getting some crapola about it? That's no biggy. I'm used to it. lol

Hey....By the way, when's that bonfire? There might be a few liquor stores inbetween you and I so finding some beer shouldn't be an issue.

There will always be differences in opinions.

(Sorry Pharmer, I couldn't resist.)

The list goes on and on but we all share a common bond in that we're passionate about hunting and the outdoors. It would be to our best interest to remember that we are a minority as it is. Dividing us into smaller minorities will only make us as hunters weaker and more vulnerable to attacks from those groups who want our hunting rights terminated.

So here it is...AMEN!

The Rendezvouz is the weekend of June 11th. Not sure where New Prauge is, but it sounds familiar. Hope to see you there.

Think of it as an "out of season" deer camp for IW members and friends. This will actually be my first year up there, but I've heard enough about it to make sure I won't miss any more. 3-D shoot, skeet, trap, shed contest, big bucks, making new aquaintences, and meeting up with some buddies I haven't seen for a while. Anyone is welcome to come, it would be a great time and place to meet up with some of the guys here on the site in person, not to mention a great place to sit around that campfire and BS. Hope to see you there.
