Observation Advice

The Silence

PMA Member
This upcoming year I want to spend a lot more time observing the deer I hope to be hunting next fall. I would love to get your imput on any tips you would suggest having to do with:
1) What type of places to key in on during the spring and summer? What type of food sources etc?

2) Do you usually use ground blinds, tree stands or have you ever used elevated blinds on stilts.

3)Do you normally stay far away from your potential hunting areas or not?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That's what I use a trail cam for. I prefer to stay out of and away from areas I hunt as much as possible.
The best time to kill a good buck...is the first time you hunt a stand...

Summer time is a great time to get out and check bean fields, usually you will see large bachelor groups feeding in bean fields. Additionally, a trailcam placed in between beeding and food or even over a good food source can be great to tell you what you have out there

Bean fields from a distance and trail cameras over well established mineral licks. Buy the end of August you should know them all by name!
