On 4/21 Limb and I went to a spot that I hunt close to home. It's good hunting but has an out of controll deer population that can make things hard. It wasn't the deer that proved to be the problem though. We had a bird closing in on us but when he came out of the timber he took of on a 150 yrd sprint the wrong direction. That's when we saw the third or fourth coyote of the morning. With deer and turkey running for their lives we knew it wasn't going to happen. We packed up drove to another spot and moved in on some birds we saw from the road. Nothing happening here either. With the wind getting strong we drove to a spot with a big bluff we could get below. We set up and waited and our first calls got an answer. Limb thought he saw the bird but said he was not sure. HMM. Well soon enough a bird came in right in front of us. He stayed out about 50yrds from the decoys. A little more calling and him looking at pretty boy was all it took. Old gap tail went down, and maybe not for the first time his right breast was full of shot. Sat. morning I took a good friend that doesn't hunt much. He got to my house and wanted to know if I had a choke tube wrench, he bought a new tube the night before but couldn't get his out. I told him it was not a good time to be doing that as we needed to get going. The birds didn't do much for us early but I told him to be patient. It wasn't long and I heard a drum. I told him there was a bird close but he didn't belive me. I looked out the back of the blind to see the bird at 15 yrds. I told Chuck to get his gun out the front of the blind, and that bird made a run for the decoy. After passing the blind at 4 feet away Chuck shot him at 3 yrds,it wasn't pretty. Then we hooked up with Limb but couldn't decide where to go. Chuck made a call to a guy we went to school with and the hunt was on. I took a blind to myself so Limb could bond with Chuck. It's amazing that we have any luck the way we carry on durring a slow time. It didn't take long and Limb put the hurt on one to make the third in two days with both bow birds on video. WOW, that was fun

Good huntin' boys. Someone needs to start a "Best Turkey Video" contest. We got a couple good hunts on video this year too, I would love to see everyone elses. Congrats on the birds!
