We spent the weekend at Boar Ridge with some good friends. I sat back and let my son do the hunting and he did well with a solid boar on Friday at 11:30 AM and Old Red a big boar Saturday evening. Old Red was the boar Owen was after as we had some trail cam pictures sent to us from Nick and David ahead of time showing him and other quality pigs. There's not much better than sharing hunts with my son. Owen was so excited as Old red moved in and Owen was able to put a perfect hit on him right through the heart after about 3 minutes of waiting for the shot to present and letting the anticipation build. After the shot Owen's excitement continued to grow as he knew he put a great shot on him as the boar bulldozed 40 yards and piled up. The adrenaline flowed his hands were shaking and he let out with a triumphant yell he was ecstatic and showed emotion like I have never seen. I couldn't have been prouder it's great to see his passion grow with every hunt we share. Congrats again bud!
Thank you again to the Bess and Danker family your hospitality and shared passion is what keeps us dreaming of coming back just as soon as our hunts at Boar Ridge end, by the way the Owenator is still flying high!
Pig numbers are good at Boar Ridge and we seen plenty, in the last 3 trips over the past year we have had at least one hunter in the group shoot a pig around or above 250 pounds this trip there we had two. If you haven't hunted Boar Ridge yet your missing a ton of fun.
