Forecast for next Wed=Temps around 80'. Typical warm start. Camo briefs called for. As a side note. Rain again this morn in West Iowa-Des-area to dissipate as it moves east. Also typical blocking pattern. Thank goodness for my land this pattern waited until growing season is over!

Depends on what forecast you read. Nat weather service does not look that far out. Any forecast is suspect even 2 days out, but over all pattern is now just the reverse of what Iowa had all summer. Summer was Ridge west-Trough east. Now is Ridge-blocking pattern east. Trough Stormy west. This pattern could now get established for quite some time. Meaning a warm Oct and Nov. Been about that way last few yrs. Last year I still got Chigger bites in Nov!

I have never once hunted the opener. Not saying I don't want to, but usually just doesn't work out schedule wise. I do plan on going out within the next couple weeks to take a doe in the clover plot.

Sweat-bugs-leaves,me either. Bucks of any size don't appear on my little piece of ground until the rut anyway. Most seasons I have been in Iowa has been a fight to get a good frost until mid-Nov. Way too warm even in most of Nov. I know the stories of the good ole days when it was snowing by Halloween, but those days are history I think. Was the same way up in N-MI where I came from. Warm thru most of Oct.A warming planet? Naw ,,not going there..
