Im wondering what the opinions are about the stanislawski super x VS the carter solution 3. Any opinion are greatly appreciated. I've shot the super x and liked it but havn't had a chance to shoot the solution 3.
I am a TruBall fan and I really like their Short-N-Sweet buckle. NO velcro on my releases. I have shot the Carter Chocolate Addiction. Awefully high priced IMO. No experience with your two models mentioned that I can recall anyway. This spring I tried tons of them
and switched froma Truball Tornado to the Short-N-Sweet.
i think that the releases in question are target, thumb triggered releases. most everyone has been throwing out wrist strap hunting trigger releases. for a hunting release, i love the carter 2 shot. i have never gotten serious about trying the thumb style, although i may after hunting season is over. i will be looking at the carter line, most likely
I shoot a lot.
and I mean a lot.
I have found that with a thumb style release for hunting you have your hands available for rattling calling or what ever.
With a thumb release I click it on my string loop and let it hand till I am ready for it.
It is out of your way till needed for the shot. I have nothing against wrist releases. They have worked for me for years.
I shoot a lot of target archery and use a back tension from time to time.(I personally suggest not using a backtension release for hunting.) However I use the Stan Super X Quattro in Large frame for target. I like this release so much that I will be using it for hunting this fall.
BTW the best Backtension release made is the Carter Evolution Plus..(This is my opinion)

I agree 100%...I would say most guys who shoot, actually 'punch' the trigger and physically pull with their finger instead of getting a surprise release. A backtension will be great in the off-season, but when it comes to hunting, you need to accelerate your "push-pull" with your wrist release...the best shooters in the world practice with back-tension and probably use thumb releases because it is easier to get a surprise release.
I use a carter because it is harder to pull back and requires you use more of your back muscles. Try different ones until you find one that works for you...just like bows!
