Opinions wanted: PSE bow

I'm seriously thinking about getting back into bowhunting. I have a bow spotted & it is already set-up & the correct price.
At Scheels in Sioux City they have a PSE Predator w/ the NRG cams, Sims stabilizer, string loop, whisker bizquit, sight, strap, 4 carbon arrows. I'm sure all the Scheels stores have this model. Is it worth $400 all set-up? I think it will be coming home w/ me, it fits well.

Sounds reasonable. If you don't have to own a new bow, there are some pretty good deals to be had on top-end bows that are a year or two old (Hoyt, Mathews, Bowtech, etc.). I bought two slightly-used Hoyts (a 2004 UltraTec and a 2005 Vtec) early this year for what one new would have cost. ArcheryTalk.com's classified ads have tons of used bows for sale all the time.

Personally I am not a brand basher. But, I think that is to high of a price for that particular bow. Like NW stated. You can pick up a heckofa bow for $300-$350. The accessories you can find just about anywhere. Like you stated a bow that fits you is the key. A 3 year old bow is even cheaper. Good luck and welcome back to Bowhunting.

I assume that's the PSE Predator package your'e talking about? When I worked at scheels a few years ago those bows were GREAT starter packages. I definately recommend them.

Someone on this site told me that PSE stood for Pretty SH!^^$ Equipment.

I think they were giving me grief about my 1983 PSE that served me well last fall, though!

My first bow was a 2001 pse predator. Shot real well with it. I traded the following year but I really had no complaints about the bow.

I have shot a PSE bow since I was 16. The Polaris, Beast, and now a Primos. They all shot well. I like the new Vengence but I am going to wait a couple of years to upgrade.
