Original vs Assault

I am looking forward to purchases for next year and am planning on buying a Lone Wolf. Don't know if I should buy the original hang-on or the new smaller assault. Anybody have any experience with both?

I would have to say the original...very roomy, light and comfy. The assault is nice but I prefer the larger platform

I just bought an Alpha this year and love it. I have not seen the Assault in person but from the pictures it appears to be quite a bit smaller than the Alpha. If your a smaller guy and hunt short sits you could probably do fine with the assault. I'm 6'2" and like to set 6+ hours. No way I would want to do that in the smaller assault. I'd leave an extra stick at home before I gave up that much comfort.

I have an Alpha Hang-On and I love it. Light weight to carry, easy to put up, and a very roomy platform.

Another vote for the Assault. I bought mine this year and love it. Light, quiet, easy to put up, and a nice big platform. Makes moving around up there a lot easier.

I like my alpha and appreciate the floor space but can't wait to get the assault. It looks to me like the ultimate in light weight and portability. After talking to Andrae the other day he mentioned that it would have the old v-bracket on it, I was kind of hoping it might have the new offset bracket.

The original for me, the assault looks way too small, heck my feet stick half way over the edge of the original if I sit down. The 2 pound difference doesn't do much for me. I do wish I had the new seat, but that is about it. As far as V-bracket and offset bracket, I hate them both. The hook is where it is at
