Shredder

Taken 9-1-06...out of velvet. I hope the bucks will come to the pear tree now. It has been dead all late summer

It's getting closer. It's good to see some bone. I think it's just the angle but that pic is really messing with me. His rack looks like it got twisted to the side or something.

Not sure about his rack....I'll see him much closer here before too long and will post what the problem looks to be like

Here I thought "out of velvet" was going to have something to do with your previous avatar

Hard horns, cool breeze, golden soybeans... Nother day closer.

I sat with my back against a tree last night and my eye against a spotting scope and watched 10 bucks chow down on some alfalfa. Like your Shredder, every one of them was hard horn. It seems early for here but that'll give the real big one some time to stain those antlers up before I kill him in a month.

.........wishful thinking.

Good Luck on that buck.

I was putting up my last stand and on my way i jumped a nice 8 that was still in velvet. Wonder how much longer till hes hard horn.

Watched 2 eating side by side yesterday morning at 100 yards one hard horn and the other in velvet a 3 1/2 year old and 4 1/2 year old. They knew I was there drove up on them in the truck and stopped. The hard horn was really nervous and left in a hurry the velvet stuck around three minutes or so and slowly walked over the hill along with shedding that velvet their entire attitudes change. Two weeks ago I watched these same two bucks and they could care less if I was there.

I saw 6 bucks this morning all still in velvet. By the looks of Shredders pic though...I better get some "tree fence" up real quick like!

Friday decided to got out scouting a new alfalfa field and 3 bucks in the field 1 8pt completely out and smaller of the 8 watched him work on the right side while on a pine in the fence row and the big guy he was trying to get the job done on some milk weed that had grown up between the alfalfa field and corn field. Definitely the instincts are starting to kick in. Then the 2 8 pts did a little sparing session.

That buck is real early I just got some pics from last weekend and the bucks all were still in velvet and I had one that was just starting to get a little blood on the antlers. I cant wait!!!

Not too early...taken on the second
