P41 vs S600

Dbltree was wanting to see a side by side comparison of pics from my p41 vs my s600 cams. I pm'ed him some out the back door pics, but these are more realistic. The cams were attached to the same tree, not sure why they look so much closer with the s600, different focal length apparently.
It would probably be a better test without snow on the ground, but that will be a while.

P41 with flash enhancer set to ISO 400, Flash +, standard quality (I cant tell the diff between fine and standard).

S600 set to auto ISO, no flash enhancer (doesnt need it), flash set to standard level (doesnt need flash + with snow on ground I dont think).

The s600 takes much better pics, especially when viewed full size, and the flash seems 50% stronger. No doubt it is a much slower cam though.

With the s600...did you wire it with 3 or 4 wire method? I have 3 cams sitting here with BG2 boards and have yet to wire one in the 3 wire method.

Its a 3 wire mod. I have a couple more to do and I am looking at going with the 4 wire mod using a SSS with a wide angle lens. I would think that setup would perform fairly well on trail situations.
I guess I wasnt aware anyone was doing the 4 wire mod with the BG2. Is your 4 wire the "fast" mod with limited lens movement?

I have yet to wire one...mine was already modified with 3 wire and IR when I got it. Where did you find the mods for the 3 wire method

Its super easy to mod, just drop it in a box and ship it to this guy.

Trail Ghost Game Cams

He goes by cybersniper on Hags, and I believe is the guy who designed the Yeti board, another guy sells them for him I think. The faster s600 mod is known as the Yeti mod? It uses a 4 wire mod that limits the travel of the lens and disables the shutter cover which speeds up the cam and cuts down on noise. Its only about a 1/2 second faster but I suppose it would help and also cut down on wear on the lens, save battery power, etc. He does the stereo jack mod, looks super clean. I wish I had a junk cam to practice on, dont really want to fry a new one and the 600 is supposed to be a little tough to hack, small contacts.

I have only hacked one 600 and the contacts are very small. Also there is much less extra room for wires.
