I have a lot of history with this buck,
I love wide , but he still once again this year has not gained any more tine lenght, he broke his one brow tine off in late Oct.
by all means- we know he is at least a 4 to/5 year old, buck
He is without adoubt "one wise old smart arse buck,
I so far have been the only hunter - to have a stand encounter with him all season,( Me, my husband and one other friend of our's hunt the 300 acre's, that we know he is roaming)
He is very noctornal, but right now he is back to working scrape lines in this area , just like , he did last year in this same time frame of our season( and we only bowhunt our land)

I just would really love to hear how many of you Iowa guy's would shoot this buck if you had the perfect shot?

I don't care for wide racks and love tine length, so he's not that attractive to me.

With your history (his age), I'd still probably shoot him though, considering he's better than most bucks I saw in my area this year.

Without a doubt. He is a big bodied and racked mature deer. Also, knowing he is a smart one makes it even a better accomplishment. The only opinion that counts though is yours...if you would be happy and proud to take him then go for it.

Another thought is that he might be a bully driving more desirable bucks off the property. Whack him. ;)

No question, shoot him just based on your age estimates. He just doesn't have the genetics to get much bigger. I would take him and be happy with it.
