The 'Bonker

Good friend of mine raises elk. They are pretty neat to watch. He has all bulls, no cows so they don't bugle very much as all. All they do chirp like a cow. Every once in awhile they let out a good bugle, but they do fight non stop. As soon as the velvet leaves until the horns fall of their heads.

I would LOVE to have a pen for deer. But Im to much of a animal lover to have them penned in less than 2 acres per deer.

I can't really think of any reason that would make me want to have a deer pen. I think that, that which is too familiar looses much of it's magic and wonder. I have seen it happen in the past when it was extra special to see any deer in the 60s or 70s. Then when the populations expanded it became more than common place to see them, in fact it became disappointing not to see LOTS of them. I can't think of any wild animal that I wouldn't rather see occasionally in the wild as opposed to seeing them in a cage every day and have to care for and feed them, even if I love them.

To each his own on this one but for me, no.

I guess I'm lucky in that I get to observe them dialy from my kitchen table and I like the allure that they are wild animals. I'll admit, it would be neat but my gut says no.
