Pioneer Seed

I'm no help. Haven't grown Pioneer for quite a few years. We have planted 100% channel for quite a while. Are talking about for plots or for commercial purposes?
 
Way back when I food plotted, a local seed dealer would give away opened bags that other clients had returned. Most are treated so you are not supposed to trash them. Maybe he was the exception. Might get a later start on planting, but if it is food plot, any bushel loss isn't a huge financial deal.

I know the couple around me won’t give it away- they want astronomical prices for bags- but also now they do “plot” seed bags too for this reason and still want way too much. Last year the local conservation gave away left over bags to people who would plant it but not harvest. Worth checking in to that too
 
After price shopping for Commercial seed, Pioneer and Dekalbs were the most expensive by aways.

If I was going to plant it for food plots, I would look else where. Albert Lea seed house on corn would be a consideration.

Sometimes treated beans will come back to a dealer, and they can't send them back, so might be willing to buy them for very little.

Way back when, I contacted Pheasants Forever and the guy alluded that he would want to hunt I I got free seed from him, so thus it wasn't so free.

Yeah I wouldn’t do pheasants forever- they have to pay for their seed. The county conservations don’t (at least not the 2 counties I work with up here)
 
If you can get hooked up with a larger dealer or a DSM you might be able to get plot seed for free. Channels plot seed comes in tiny bags and what isn't used gets thrown together. Might be able to get their leftover plot seed that's been mixed together. I just use whatever we cleaned out of the planter the year before for my plot seed.
