Planting corn and beans

How late is too late in the summer to plant corn and soy beans? I realize the later you plan the less time it will have to grow, but it’s a food plot so if I don’t get a phenomenal yield I can live with it.

It's not to late for beans but it's really pushing it for corn. You might find a very short maturity date corn in your area and if you have timely rains it could still work. If you have an early frost, you may end up with stalks and no ears though.
