Planting pin oaks

Hello, this is daver's son and I have some questions about planting pin oak trees from an acorn picked up off the ground. I have searched the internet for instuctions but I could'nt find information about pin oaks and if it was then it was conflicting with another source. If you would consider yourself knowledgeable in this field I would appreciate your help. And I was wondering if I should treat a pin oak like a red or white oak as well.

They are a red so they will not germinate till sprintime and need stratification (cold-moist) to break dormancy. You can plant them out now where you want them an inch deep, but make sure to keep them guarded from squirrels. A second option is to store them in the fridge till spring in damp peat and plant them out then.
